GEPAN distributed Christmas hampers to a group of women from the village of Hope, East Coast Demerara, on Saturday, December 17th.
The hampers which contained dietary and beauty products, are part of GEPAN’s Christmas initiative to give back to modest families in the community. They were delivered by GEPAN’s Project Coordinator Anna Campbell-Persaud, who had already conducted work in the village.
The activity was made possible through the generosity of the local business community, including A&R Cosmetics and the Hilton Restaurant, as well as private donors.
This is our second event in Hope, after having distributed stationery earlier this year to primary school children, under our Support Education Campaign (SEC) .
Hope is a farming community where the population depends mainly on small-scale agriculture for their daily subsistence.
